A staple road 10k run for me. The distance is measured from the Red Lion, but add the distance from your house and your at the 10k.
Go down Washbrook Place opposite the Red Lion. Turn right down Harolds Farm Road, pass the farm until you get to the first junction. Turn left and continue pass the old tram/train carriage and Junction Cottage, named because the cottage was at the junction of the Moreton to Stratford and Shipston to Stratford railway/tramway.
On reaching the Shipston Road turn left back up the small slope. Turn right at the next junction towards Blackwell.
Down the Blackwell Road with the new solar park on the left. On reaching Blackwell bear left through the village. On reaching the road to Armscote turn right. Pass the village hall and carry on going passed the Blackwell Industrial Park. Take the next right to go back to the village. At the next junction turn left to take you back up passed the village green and retrace your steps back to Ilmington, up a slope that is quietly steeper than you think.
There are lots of modifications that you can do with this route. Extend to the Fosse Way down several roads out of Blackwell or turn left and extend to Armscote or right and carry on to Darlingscott.
A great route, just be careful on the Shipston Road. The slope back out of Blackwell is long and really carries on all the way back into Ilmington.
